SUSONITY Becomes Part of GNMI Group

Darmstadt, August 1, 2025 – SUSONITY has officially become part of Global New Material International Holdings Ltd. (HKSE: 6616). The transaction closed on July 31, 2025, with ownership transferring from Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany to GNMI, in a deal valued at €665 million in cash.

SUSONITY, formerly the Surface Solutions division of Merck KGaA, is headquartered in Gernsheim, Germany. The company is the market leader in premium effect pigments and active ingredients for automotive, cosmetic, and industrial applications. With a strong global footprint and a well-established international sales network, Susonity is also known for its innovation leadership and technical expertise.

Susonity employs approximately 1,100 people worldwide, including over 600 in Germany. Key manufacturing sites are located in Germany, Japan, and the United States. As part of its global strategy, the company plans to establish regional headquarters in EMEA, North America, and Asia Pacific, supported by a robust international production footprint.

Founded in 2011, Global New Material International Holdings Limited (GNMI) is one of the largest pearlescent pigment producers and the parent company of the Korea-based company CQV. It is based in Guangxi, China, and listed in Hongkong. The company's combined net revenue (pro forma) amounted to RMB 4.776 billion (approximately € 615 million) in 2024. Around 2,000 employees work at production facilities in China, Korea, Germany, Japan, and the United States. The company offers a full range of solutions – from high-end premium products to high-volume technology-driven applications.
